SCADA &
Remote Monitoring
See the whole plant from one screen — and know about a problem before it becomes a stoppage.

SCADA & Remote Monitoring, delivered with method.
SCADA and remote monitoring systems that collect plant data, present it clearly to operators and managers, and alert the right people when conditions drift outside limits.
A plant generates data continuously — flows, pressures, temperatures, run hours, alarms. Without a supervisory layer, that data stays locked inside individual controllers. SCADA brings it together so that operators see the whole process, and so that trends, alarms and reports exist to support decisions.
WOL designs and implements SCADA and monitoring systems that are sized to the plant: from a single-screen overview of a pumping station to a multi-server system with historian and remote access. The emphasis is on reliable data, clear displays and alarms that mean something.

What the crew brings to site.
Each capability is delivered by supervised crews working to written method statements, with hold points agreed before the work begins.
SCADA system design
Architecture, server and network layout, redundancy and security appropriate to the site.
Data acquisition
Connection to PLCs, RTUs, drives, meters and instruments across industrial protocols.
Visualisation & dashboards
Process overviews, equipment screens and management dashboards designed for clarity.
Alarm management
Prioritised, rationalised alarms with escalation by SMS or email where required.
Historian & reporting
Trend storage, production and utility reports, and export to business systems.
Remote monitoring
Secure remote access for operators, managers and WOL support engineers.
Where this service applies.
Typical scopes WOL is mobilised for, and the sectors where this discipline is most often called on.
Related sectors
How the work is controlled.
Three principles that shape every scope — so the client can see what will happen, when, and how it will be checked.
Data that can be trusted
Every tag is validated at commissioning against the field, so that what the screen shows is what the plant is doing.
Displays for the people who use them
Screens follow a consistent hierarchy and use colour sparingly, so abnormal conditions stand out.
Security by design
Remote access is segmented, authenticated and logged, and network changes are agreed with the client's IT team.
Controls that travel with the crew.
Safety and quality arrangements apply to every scope. Specific certifications and third-party approvals are stated only where confirmed by WOL.
Permit-led execution
Every intervention starts inside the client's permit system.
Alarm philosophy agreed with operations before configuration
Point-to-point checks recorded for every monitored signal
Network and remote-access design reviewed with the client's IT and security representatives
Backup, recovery and change procedures documented at handover
From scope to handover.
The same sequence on every engagement, so clients always know which stage the work is at.
Survey
Existing control systems, data sources and network reviewed.
Define
Tag list, screens, alarms and reports agreed with operations.
Configure
Servers, communications, displays and historian built.
Integrate
Controllers, meters and devices connected and validated.
Commission
Point checks, alarm testing and operator familiarisation.
Support
Remote support and periodic system health reviews.
Common questions about scada.
Straight answers on how this service is scoped, mobilised and handed over.
Can SCADA be added to a plant that already has PLCs?
Yes. Most SCADA projects connect to existing controllers. Where a controller cannot communicate, a gateway or a small controller upgrade usually resolves it.
Is remote access secure?
Remote access is designed with the client's IT team: segmented networks, authenticated users, encrypted connections and access logs. The client retains control of who is granted access.
Do you support the system after handover?
Support arrangements are agreed per project and can include remote monitoring by WOL engineers, scheduled health checks and on-site response.
